This was a small 2 day project and a Christmas gift for my mom. She is a counselor who frequently has meetings with clients on her phone at her desk.
I designed and made a hands free phone stand with integrated lighting that maintained a minimal footprint to preserve space on the desk.
The form of this design is inspired by rod stands utilized to fixture glassware and other equipment that compose chemistry experiments. The rod stand introduces a verticality to continuous systems that incorporate phase changes in the chemical prosses being executed.
